Family Involvement
At Monarch Montessori, we believe that strong home–school communication and active family engagement are essential to a child’s success. Rooted in Montessori principles, education is seen as a partnership between the child, the guide, and the family—working together to support the whole child. Frequent, open communication ensures that families stay informed and connected to their child’s learning, while also allowing teachers to better understand each child’s unique needs, interests, and development. We also value the role of families as volunteers, whose presence helps enrich the classroom community and model collaboration and care. Together, this partnership fosters consistency, trust, and a supportive environment where children can grow into confident, independent learners.
Communication
At Monarch Montessori, we value open, frequent, and transparent communication between home and school as an essential part of each child’s success. All enrolled families receive access to a secure ClassDojo account, a user-friendly communication platform that keeps you connected throughout the day. Through ClassDojo, teachers share real-time updates, photos, and messages so you can stay informed about your child’s learning and experiences. Families can also message teachers directly at any time, making it easy to ask questions, share insights, and stay actively involved in your child’s Montessori journey.
Volunteers
At Monarch Montessori, we warmly welcome volunteers as an important part of our school community. Volunteers play a valuable role in supporting our classrooms, enriching student experiences, and helping bring our programs to life. In accordance with the State of Michigan licensing regulations for child care centers, all volunteers must follow specific guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of every child. Volunteers are always supervised by staff—our facility does not permit unsupervised volunteers under any circumstances. All individuals interested in volunteering are required to complete a volunteer application prior to participating in the classroom. We are grateful for the time, care, and support our volunteers bring to our school.
